Just a quick note FYI.

I have been able to successfully import the ZenOSS 2.1 VM image onto an ESX 
host using VMWare converter.

As I recall the most critical thing is that you must not try to modify the 
disks during the import, although once imported it is pretty easy to use 
vmdktools to resize the drive as required, then use a partition resizing boot 
disk to enlarge the ext3 partition.

Once imported I had to edit the VM settings to remove the workstation specific 
settings like sound and usb and then I set the OS to be Linux -> Other Linux. 
Once this was done I was able to migrate the vm into our cluster and do DRS etc.

Other than the above it pretty much just worked for me.  Our ESX hosts are 
running 3.0 with current patching.
