The way that performance graphs work are as follows; The Device template is applied to all new devices by default. (you can override this by binding the template.
For device components they are done by type. If you select the component in the web browser (The interface) you will see the type listed as ethernetCsmacd_64 or ppp or ds1 or any multitude of other device types. In order to automatically monitor any device under you need to create a new template called (the type name) in your case ethernetCsmacd_64 or ethernetCsmacd on /devices/server/linux/fancy. Now all devices under /devices/server/linux/fancy will be monitored with the new ethernetCsmacd template. When i get to that path and press templates, i get all my templates + my fancy template (but i dont have a check box in front of it (normal??). Next, i add my fancy device. Under device list its marked with class /Server/Linux/fancy. Under OS tab i have a bunch of interfaces but none from my fancy template. So, i add my interface. Get the snmp index right and all that. Then i press template and the template for my new interface is : ethernetCsmacd /Devices Standard ethernet interface template with 75% utilization threshold Now, i want to bind that to my fancy template...menu -> bind performence template, choose my fancy template and press ok...then nothing. The menu scroll up and the page is still blured out/white layer. I need to press back button to get controll over zenoss again. So, what do you think im doing wrong? Should i delete my fancy template and then add it again (im trying to avoid that as you can understand..its alot of click and copy&paste to get everything right).
