Hello all I have a new install of Zenoss 2.1 Core running on Ubuntu 7.10. I routinely get false alarms - several times a day. Usually it is my two Cisco routers, but sometimes it is every device that I have modeled. Needless to say, this has almost given me several heart attacks as my Blackberry goes nuts at 2am. :)
Usually it is 'device down' messages such as the following: Device: XXX.XXX.net Component: Severity: Critical Time: 2007/11/19 06:49:18.000 Message: xxx-xxx-x.xxx.xxx.net ip 172.19.xx.xxx is down But sometimes it is 'SNMP agent down' alerts: Device: xxx.xx.xxx.com Component: snmp Severity: Error Time: 2007/11/19 09:37:02.000 Message: snmp agent down on device xxx.xxx.xxx.com I have other monitoring systems loaded on the same Ubuntu server - smokeping, Cacti and Hyperic. None of them report any downtime for any systems. I do have lots of these in the zenping log: 2007-11-17 13:56:56 WARNING zen.ZenStatus: device 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' network 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/26' not in topology thoughts? I can get any logs etc that anyone needs to take a look into this. thanks -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=13387#13387 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
