...another wish would be to have the Custom Schema exposed to Systems, Groups,
and Locations as well as Devices so that I could, for instance, set a search
string and URI for check_http based on devices in a specific System. As it is
I'm creating a template for whatever system I want to monitor, adding my
commands in there with the URI and search string specified in the command, and
then binding that template to each device in the System. For one-off systems I
also have a generic check_http template and I can set the search string and URI
with the custom schema. But it'd be nice to have just one check_http template
and be able to set the search string and URI for an entire System like you can
with the Device classes.

I do not want to mirror my Systems hierarchy in /Devices because most of our IT
systems are heterogeneous, involving for example both Windows and Linux systems
and I don't want to have to manage device templates on a per-device basis.

Oh, and if I'm completely hitting this from the wrong angle, let me know! If
there's an easier way to do what I want to do, I'm all ears. I'm still trying
to hammer through some of my issues with Zenoss before I can recommend using it
in production. At that point we would definitely be purchasing a support
contract or two. ;-)
