I have a two fold problem that I am trying to figure out how to work around with zenoss.
1. I would like to do status monitoring via snmp and not ping. In addition I would want to be able to turn ping monitoring off, and rely only on snmp for status monitoring. 2. I would like to have multiple servers on the same ip, but different snmp port without the even log complaining about duplicate ips. Reasons are as follows. I have a group of servers where only one of them has an ip on our lan. This server is also on a private lan with all the rest of the servers in its group. I have set up port forwarding so I can do an snmpwalk against the one server that has a lan ip, and just use different ports depending on what internal server I want to get to. Any thoughts? Thanks ahead of time for any help.
