The boxes were firewalled and I ran into the same connectivity problem with the WBEMTEST utility.
The quick fix was to open the service on the firewall with this command: (run on the windows machine) Code: netsh firewall set services REMOTEADMIN enable The authentication seemed to be case insensitive.
