I've been consistently receiving false alarms from httpmonitor. They are mostly timed-out errors and a few 500 (asp) errors.
Example: Message: Command timed out on device [my device name]: $ZENHOME/libexec/check_http -H [my device name] -I [my ip address] -p 80 -t 60 -u [/my_webapp_url] -f critical I have been using the default Timeout value (within the datasource configuration menu) at 60 seconds. It's weird because the site was running normal during those times and all of these timed out errors would get cleared within seconds: Example: Cleared by: 'HTTP OK HTTP/1.1 200 OK - 26559 bytes in 1.265 seconds' Could someone shed me some light, please? Here's my setup: - zenoss v2.1.2 and httpmonitor 1.0.1-el5-i686. - a device class called WebApp which manages one device, our internet site - a template containing 3 datasources - each datasource points to a specific web application (ex: /my_webapp_url) I've received error messages from all 3 datasources, but they never came at the same time. For example, one datasource would go problem-free for days; at the same time, another one would error out (and then clear itself soon after) repeatedly for a few hours. Any help would be very much appreciated. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=16185#16185 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
