If you have activated WinService monitoring and you restart:

1.) zenwin daemon only or
2.) make a zenoss restart or
3.) reboot the server

--> afterthat - you will get tons of entries iniside the Event Console
tellling you something like that:

Code:

2008-03-21 23:56:59 CRITICAL zen.zenwin: Windows Service 'idsvc' is down
2008-03-21 23:56:59 INFO zen.zenwin: svc down ENG-SRV-03, idsvc
2008-03-21 23:56:59 WARNING zen.zenwin: ENG-SRV-03: NetTcpPortSharing stopped
2008-03-21 23:56:59 CRITICAL zen.zenwin: Windows Service 'NetTcpPortSharing' is
down
2008-03-21 23:56:59 INFO zen.zenwin: svc down ENG-SRV-03, NetTcpPortSharing
2008-03-21 23:56:59 WARNING zen.zenwin: ENG-SRV-03: RSoPProv stopped
2008-03-21 23:56:59 CRITICAL zen.zenwin: Windows Service 'RSoPProv' is down
2008-03-21 23:56:59 INFO zen.zenwin: svc down ENG-SRV-03, RSoPProv
2008-03-21 23:57:09 INFO zen.zenwin: ZRH-WEB-01: DPMRA running
2008-03-21 23:57:09 INFO zen.zenwin: TIC-SQL-01: DPMRA running
2008-03-21 23:57:09 WARNING zen.zenwin: ZRH-SRV-01: WinHttpAutoProxySvc stopped
2008-03-21 23:57:09 WARNING zen.zenwin: ENG-SRV-02: WinHttpAutoProxySvc stopped

If I understand this correctly, zenwin generates this alerts everytime during
startup - without proofing the real status of a Win Service.

After moving these event to history and without starting daemon/zenoss again -
Win Service monitoring works perfectly.

Repro is very easy. I tested with two systems from scratch.

Does someone have solution for this issue? Would be great :-).

Thanks a lot!
Herbert
