I have seen this on RHEL3 machines running net-snmp v5.0.9
Code: [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# /sbin/service snmpd status snmpd dead but subsys locked [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# rpm -qi net-snmp | grep Version Version : 5.0.9 Vendor: Red Hat, Inc. [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# cat /etc/redhat-release Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 6) [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# This machine cannot be ugpraded from RHEL3. My plan to fix this is to compile net-snmp v5.3 without SNMPv3 support, to avoid all the SSL dependencies. Where I work, this means building an rpm, then upgrading the machine with the rpm during a maintenance outage, which is scheduled for August 2008. If anyone has a better solution, I would like to hear it. :D Thanks, David -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=20025#20025 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
