There have been issues where (for unknown reasons) where Zenoss will mis-detect the AIX SNMP version and change it to version 2c. You may not have this issue, but it's worthwhile to check.
To check, navigate to the device and select More -> zProperties. Scroll down to about 3/4 down the page and look for the SNMP version that it's using. If it says that it's 2c rather than 1, change it to 1 and then scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on the 'save' button.
