No, this is not a known problem. The only thing I can think of that would explain what you are seeing is a change in IP address on the box. Is that possible?
Here's a trick... next time it happens, instead of deleting the device, reset its IP... only don't enter an IP address: leave the field blank. This will let it rediscover the address and load it back in.
