Hello,

i think the only suitable way to support any kind of switches is to poll the 
mac-address-tables out of the switches and then run the SPF (depends what kind 
of Spanning Tree is in use;) over that information; an other suitable way for 
cisco devices could be if you poll the spanning tree information(=same output 
as "show spanning-tree detail") of every switch and then build upon that the 
topology, the obvious PRO of this solution is that you have the actual/live 
spanning-tree topology drawn instead of (the first mentioned way)  an topology 
that "should" look like the actual network.......
