There is not a default event rule in Zenoss that triggers on interface status change. You can create an event that checks for the operstatus of a port, but of course you have to wait for the next poll cycle to before it will generate an event. Another option is to have your system send an snmp trap on a link down event. For Net-SNMP you do Code: linkUpDownNotifications yes
I prefer this method on my systems because a loose cable or other problems the link may go down and back up within a poll interval and I'd never get alerted. With the trap, provided it's not the only interface, I'll get an alert. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=21344#21344 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
