Hmmm, just restarted from the GUI and no change... I'm wondering if I've
somehow screwed up my script.
Hmmm, running with debug gets me this:
INFO:zen.zencommand:---------- - schedule has 26 commands
DEBUG:zen.zencommand:running '/opt/zenoss/libexec/btoner'
DEBUG:zen.zencommand:cmd line: '/bin/sh -c exec /opt/zenoss/libexec/btoner'
DEBUG:zen.zencommand:Process btoner started
DEBUG:zen.zencommand:Received exit code: 0
So it's not working? I'm not sure what's happening here.
Hmm, additional looking found that somehow my permissions got screwed up
for the Supplies file, must have been running as root for testing. I'll
see if yet again it will work with zenoss as the owner.

I've tried restarting etc... doesn't seem to ever really update from the
script unless I manually restart Zencommand...

Ok, I need to clarify - now it seems that something is being run, as I
keep getting a graph. But the graph point never changes... It still
shows 21, even though manually running the script returns 20...
Manually restarting Zencommand also gets it to work right... once. so
any idea how to get this to work automatically?

I've created a performance template to run a simple script. There's
currently, just for my testing, no variables used in Zenoss or the
script. The script reports
Datasource|Datapoint=##
and I then use that in a graph point...
The script is in /opt/zenoss/libexe/
owner/group zenoss/zenoss
All I'm doing is pulling down a web page with wget and then using
grep to parse out a number. Running the script manually works fine.
Put it in Zenoss, bind the template and I get indications it's not
running at all, or weird stuff. First, I was getting 31 graphed, even
though the value fell to 21 today. Restart zencommand, and I get a
graph drop to 27.5... Now I've checked etc, and got entries in the
ZenCommand logfile:
2008-06-06 11:02:35 INFO zen.zencommand: Deleting command devicename
from /opt/zenoss/libexec/scriptname
And now I'm getting a gap. It's like it just refuses to run the
script. This has happened before with any command datasource, though
SNMP works as expected.
Any ideas? I'm running the RPM on EL5.1 ...
