Hi,

We are going to update our Zenoss Core 2.1.1 -> 2.2.1 this week.
And the thing is that we want to migrate to a new server with another distro.

Now we are using CentOS, beq when we started there was only src installation
for deb/ubuntu. But now when the new installer is here, there is no reason to
stick with CentOS for us when ubuntu is our standard distro here.

"THE PLAN" :)

* install the new hw with ubuntu 8.10.
* make a full backup with zenbackup.
* manual backup of config files and zenpacks.
* shut the "old" server down.
* put the new server up with the right ip / dns name.
* install new with stack installer (no X).
* copy the zenpacks back from backup.
* restore backup with zenrestore.
* restore the configuration files.
* start zeo.
* migrate old data.
* re-register portlets.
* startit all upp and hold thumbs.

What do you think, is it going to be a happy day or a bad day at work?
Any thoughts?
