I've been looking at Zenoss for the past week and so far have been happy except
I had a power outage which caused a shutdown of the server twice (didn't
realise the UPS battery was dead). Zenoss now fails to start. Looking though
the logs I believe the problem is due to file corruption.
The zeo.log has the following clue:
2008-07-01T10:46:26 INFO ZEO.runzeo (2621) opening storage '1' using FileStorage
------
2008-07-01T10:46:26 CRITICAL ZODB.FileStorage
/usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/var/Data.fs redundant transaction length check failed
at 2784793459
------
2008-07-01T10:46:26 INFO ZEO.runzeo (2621) removed PID file
'/usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/var/ZEO.pid'
------
2008-07-01T10:46:26 INFO root sleep 2 to avoid rapid restarts

I had tried restarting the zenoss service a number of times before I found the
problem in the logs. Most of the services are erroring with timeouts connecting
to zenhub.

Any help on how to recover from this problem would be greatly appreciated. It
wouldn't be a huge loss if I had to re-install but I am concerned if this
happened in our production env.

Cheers

Ross
