That does sound a little bit odd, I think whoever originally wrote it
probably entered the instructions that worked for them and that's what
we published. Here are the FreeBSD 6.3 instructions (slightly closer
to 7):
http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/browser/trunk/inst/docs/INSTALL_FreeBSD63.txt
I know there are several other FreeBSD 7 users, I've CC'd a few of
them in case they have any wisdom to share.

Hi,
I'm about to embark on the journey of installing this on FreeBSD 7.
The first step according to the doc http://dev.zenoss.org/trac/browser/branches/zenoss-2.2.x/inst/docs/INSTALL_FreeBSD62.txt
is to "configure dhcp networking" via sysinstall...
5 1. Login as root, run sysinstall, configure dhcp networking
6
7 # sysinstall
I don't see this requirement for any other OS. Why does this need to
be done on FreeBSD? Additionally, the instructions are not clear
about what exactly should be configuered here... Do I need to set up
a DHCP server? Do I need to configure the interface of the server to
be a DHCP client?
Can someone provide me with some insight into this requirement please?
Thanks,
Oliver
