Silly question but have you installed the snmp service on your W2K8 server? See the admin guide here http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/zenoss-guide/2.2.3/ch16s01.html and here http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/zenoss-guide/2.2.3/ch16s07.html. Note that some server vendors, e.g. Dell OpenManage, provide much more comprehensive snmp suites than snmp-informant, so you're probably better off installing that instead.
