Hi all! I'm using zenoss to monitor about 1200 Cisco devices. Quite well I might add. It's a combination of about 500-600 switches and 500-600 access points.
What I'm trying to figure out how to do is for the automatic modeler process to detect when I replace a dead switch with a different model. If I replace a dead Cisco 3550-24PWR with a Cisco 3524, it would be helpful if zenoss reflected that change by updating the devices record. When switch is replaced, the host name and IP address are transferred onto the new device. Should zenoss already be doing this and mine is broken? Am I missing something? Or is this a lost cause and I just need to update it manually? Thanks!
