Restricting organizers is currently supported in Enterprise with ACLs.
http://www.zenoss.com/community/docs/zenoss-guide/2.2.3/ch06s03.html

My understanding of the question was that on an individual device, they wanted to restrict viewing any tab other than the "Status" tab (i.e. block access to "OS", "Hardware", etc.). Current ACLs will limit editing privileges, but not viewing of tabs and their contents. If Enterprise customers want to request features, I believe they have a venue for requesting enhancements, which gets them into prioritization for getting added. Not being an Enterprise customer myself, my Enterprise experience is mostly reading documentation and asking questions. :)

Matt,

We too are Enterprise customers and interested in this ability.

More generally it would be very nice to be able to put components into
general organizers (Like systems and groups). A use for such organizers
would be aggregation/edge routers which have interfaces or
sub-interfaces that are client specific. Another example is in
datacenter switches, where one port may be critical to a specific
service.

device?

You might be interested in using the Graph Portlets ZenPack and
putting your graphs into that, then restricting users to the
dashboard? For the individual devices, the ACLs will restrict them
from editing, but if you really need more fine-grained control contact
Client Services. Enhancement requests will get prioritized the more
customers ask for them.

I'm newer to the product, but I'm already having requests for that
sort of access. I do have the enterprise version, but now I'm being
asked if we can control access to just let them see performance
graphs. Or to let an account see performance graphs for all
devices, but not everything else.

Should those of us interested in this functionality just all open
enhancement requests?

You can currently limit users to certain devices and prevent
editing, but you cannot prevent viewing of the tabs within the
device. If the demand was there, we could probably implement that.

With the enterprise version, is it possible to only show parts of
a device to a customer?

We have customers who we want to show availability graphs, events
and some reports to. We don't want them to have access to os/
software etc since that's info they don't need.

Also, if anyone knows about the level one can give users I'd be
happy to hear about it. Can't find anything in the manual and
don't see any difference when changing the value.
