We have recently installed Zenoss 2.2.3 and upgraded to 2.2.4 this week. I also
read the Zenoss Guide front to back. We're monitoring Linux servers. It's nice
that one can go into Classes > Services > IpService > Privileged > search for
smtp > Edit > Monitor: True and have all servers that are running SMTP
monitored.

Now we'd also like to add an IP service to be monitored: the Plesk Control
Panel web interface that is running on port 8443 (HTTPS) on a number of our
servers.

We first tried going to Classes > Services > Add IP Service > Name: psa. Click
'psa' > Edit > Monitor: True, Port: 8443, set Discription, Service Keys: psa,
tcp_08443, udp_08443. After going to the Status tab there are no servers under
Service Instances, unlike for SMTP for instance.

- Is there something we're missing? Shouldn't all devices that run an IP
service on port 8443 be listed on the Status tab?
- What exactly are those Service Keys and are they important?

After this we went to the Device List and selected a server that we know is
running Plesk on port 8443. Go to the OS tab > IP Services > Add IP Service >
but there we can't find the psa service.

Now there is already a service defined called pcsync-http that's also
monitoring 8443. We can add this service manually to each server to have port
8443 monitored, but again: why are not all servers that run an IP service on
port 8443 listed on pcsync-http's Status tab so we only need to enable
monitoring for this service?

- Is it supposed to work like this or are we missing something?

Thanks.
