I'm not actually sure... At this point you're into RRD territory... if
you did change the template on a test system that has old data, did it
overwrite it? Maybe check some of the RRD docs online?

Mh, the graphs of the devices I added after I changed the interval are
printed every minute.
I don't want to loose my current data, is there a way to apply the
change to the existing graphs?

You'd set it in the template where you create the graphs...

Ok. But were do I actually set the --step per default, or even
better per device-group or device?

Hmm, now that I think about it, I'm not sure if this is in
RRD, but
this thread where I was asking about per 5 minutes for a printer
might help:
http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=19946#19946
Specifically, I think
rrdtool create printerX-pages-printed.rrd --step=300 \
DS:pages:ABSOLUTE:600:0:U \
RRA:LAST:0.5:1:288 \
RRA:MAX:0.5:1:288 \
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:288:600
But in your case, --step=60
Same below:
rrdtool graph pages.png --start=end-1day --end=now --step=300 \
--height=100 \
--width=500 \
--vertical-label=pages/5 minutes \
DEF:mypages=printerX-pages-printed.rrd:pages:LAST \
AREA:mypages#00FF00:Pages\l \
GPRINT:mypages:LAST:cur\:%0 \
GPRINT:mypages:MAX:max\:%0\j
try --step=60
Of course, this is a very loosely related example, and most
of the
stuff will need to be edited to apply to your graphs. Perhaps
just
editing the --step value would make sense?

Hi James,
that's what I also thought, but meanwhile I think it's
more the
step size of the rrdcreate which needs to be changed.
Somebody experienced around to shed some light?
Thanks,
f.

All,
I have an easy question:
We changed the collector to fetch SNMPperfstats
every 60
seconds, but the RRD graphs are still updated on a 5
minute basis.
Where is the parameter for the RRD files?
Thanks in advance,
Florian
