What you've described is a feature of Zenoss Enterprise called Global Dashboard. It allows managing multiple Zenoss installations from a single location. You should be able to open up 8080 and access the Zenoss installation, then open up a port for emails or pages for receiving alerts (or some other port if you're using Event Commands).
