I've just managed to solve this on a gentoo box: you need to have swig installed. It's a prerequisite for wmi. You don't need to comment out those lines on a linux, and probably (though I'm not entirely sure) you don't need bazar and/or subversion either, if you're installing from the official tarball.
I do find it annoying that zenoss is trying to bundle everything required -- which might be good for novices, but it leaves me with a truckload of redundant installations (come on, re-install python? on a gentoo?) and it's even worse, if this fails (for exmaple swig is not included, and if it's not installed on the system, the installation fails just like this). And I suppose, those of us, who can wrangle a tarball installation, could manage with solving a few dependency issues. Especially, if they're listed upfront. I just hope, that it's not like this on the supported distributions ... -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=28860#28860 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
