Hadn't thought of that, but it is definitely a possibility. (Since I'm fairly new to Python, I haven't played around with a lot of the popular modules.)
Another easy alternative would be to just use standard INI files--saving the config file to the user's home directory, of course. One advantage is that this approach would be quite compatible across platforms.
