Hey netdata,  the issue is resolved thanks to your tool :

There was a gap in the path to my test router,  reason for this was the 
zenmodeler daemon, it did not run correctly on an intermediate device, hence 
the gap.  Running “model device” on that particular machine completed the 
path.

Now the layer 3 dependencies work as desired.  Zenoss suppresses the events for 
the devices dependant of my test router.

Tracepath.py is great, very much recommended!
