Zenoss has no layer 2 dependencies but Iâm still hopefull it will have layer 2 mappings and dependencies soon. :-)
About the layer 3 dependencies... Has anyone tested this? For instance if just one directly connected subnet on a router is shutdown, will Zenoss make just one event about the network being down or/and ping events for all devices in that particular subnet ? Or if the router goes down entirely what events will be created. An ping event for the router not being reachable ? Events for all of the directly connected networks? Ping events for all those devices in those networks? Thank you for clarifying [quote="jmp242"]Just a question, Zenoss is supposed to handle layer 3 dependencies... if it has route info. Can you see the links for these routers in the network map? It might be a bug, but I really don't think you are supposed to need to do this sort of manual transforms for a router going down, as long as Zenoss knows about the routers and their internal routing tables... -- James Pulver Information Technology Area Supervisor LEPP Computer Group Cornell University -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=27380#27380 -------------------- m2f --------------------
