And this problem is not device specific...we have the problem showing up on traps from Cisco equipment as well as Alcatel (and many others, but just two examples). Both are configured to send traps with their default encoding (not even sure if it could be changed).
It seems to be a problem with storing or querying for IP or MAC addresses and maybe the . (in IP address x.x.x.x) and : and - (in MAC address xx:xx:xx:xx or xx-xx-xx-xx.....) are getting mucked up somehow...any ideas?
