Normally templates are not updated. We offer you a lot of control to customize your templates, and this is commonly done. If we were to come in and change the Device template around for /Server/Linux it would probably cause more problems for existing installations than the good it could do. However, the ssIORaw* data points should have definitely been created as DERIVE with a minimum of 0 instead of GAUGE. This was just a bug. I created a ticket for it and hope to get the fix included in the upcoming 2.3.3 release.
