Well, I went ahead and changed the types to Derived and Counter, and nothing changed under either. Both graphs continue to chart a steadily increasing value (cumulative) rather than a rate of change (bytes/s).
This is contrary to everything I understand about rrdtool. Can someone please shed some light? I must be missing something silly.
