Hello, I just wanted to get the community opinion on Zenoss. I need a simple network monitoring tool.
Primary need. I need to monitor remote sites uptime on the net. 95% of locations are dynamic IP provided by the ISP. We set up each sites router with dyndns assigned named. Currently we ping each sites dyndns name every 15 mins using WhatsUpGold. Reports I need to gather uptime stats on each site and generate reports to show: uptime, downtime, total availability % - by month, year... etc. Users I have a few users who would like to be able to log into a webportal and see the uptime and current status of the sites they care about. I need to ensure that user1 cannot see any of User2s sites, reports, events or even know user2 exists. Secondary need We have 10 servers (7 Windows +3 Linux) that we would like to monitor closely. Mostly uptime, but more details would be nice. So does Zenoss have what I need or is it over kill? Does anyone know of a product that would match my needs?
