Thanks for the reply! Host dependency tracking was what I was looking for, but I also need event dependency.
Right now I get a batch of "IP down" AND "IP service down" messages for every host-down event. What I was hoping for is that somehow there would be some "intelligence" here too to cut the message-noise level , so that when an IP is down (no ping), Zenoss would assume that also the IP services on it would be down. I understand that sometimes losing ICMP does not mean losing an IP service but it would be nice to configure whether losing ping means losing all on that host. Looking around a little I can see that for event classes there is a zProperty "zEventClearClasses". Does this do what I intend to do? I can't search the manual for that - search doesn't work.. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=30765#30765 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
