Well, I added the variables to the zenoss user profile, and can confirm that it 
is picking them up... but I still get the same error in Zenoss. Sad. :(

The error message from Zenoss makes it sound like it is is being read directly 
by ZenCommand's Python interpreter, not by the shell... so maybe I'm barking up 
the wrong tree.

Maybe I need to change the syntax to something that will make Python substitute 
in the environment variable?
