I'm not sure where to start with this in ZenOSS... I have about 200 devices
that we are looking at with ZenOSS. The server appears underutilized by far
and such. If I look at a device's interface graphs, sometimes there are
missing chunks in the 'Throughput' graph... sometimes in the 'Packets' graph,
sometimes in both (hard to tell on errors because its usually flat). I've been
using SNMP and various monitoring tools for over 10 years now and I've
troubleshot this a lot... usually a polling issue in my experience. But, when
there is a polling issue I'm used to seeing ALL of the polls on that device
fail, not just a single oid out of the tree, etc. So basically I'm seeing
these intermittent failures, we have several other NMS polling the devices that
are NOT missing polling cycles and I'm not sure why ZenOSS is doing this.
I've been slowly tracking down various errors in the log files bu looking
through the forums, Google, etc but I have had no luck. What should I s
ubmit to help out? We are trying to decide whether or not to implement ZenOSS
as a primary tool here and this particular issue is not very promising so far
(although we are loving the product as a whole). So, any input or assistance
would be great. Thanks!
