Thank you for your reply. I tried zenbackup on the VM and zenrestore on the Ubuntu but after the restart the zenoss services on Ubuntu would not start. I can't remember exactly what error messages I was getting but it seemed as though after the restore, some pointers were updated to reflect the zenoss directory structure on the VM but on the Ubuntu box i guess its different?
Anyway i got past that part by replacing the /usr/local/zenoss/zenoss/etc directory on the Ubuntu box with a backup of it i had taken before i restored from the VM. The zenoss services started and i could log in and see my devices. However, my portlets on the dashboard are gone and there are no available portlets in setting -->portlets. Also, the windows wmi performance monitor zenpack I had installed is not displaying the data on the perf graphs (although the graphs are there) and it seems to me that it is collecting the data. I am wondering if it has something to do with Zenoss on VM being installed at /home/zenoss and on Ubuntu having it on /usr/local/zenoss/zenoss Just a wild guess though. Sorry if the way I am explaining this is confusing. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=33288#33288 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
