Without knowing the interfaces, the network map won't be able to show some devices. SNMP gets you the interfaces, for SSH-based monitoring you could use the "zenoss.cmd.linux.ifconfig" or "zenoss.cmd.darwin.ifconfig" zCollectorPlugins for Linux and OSX, but we don't have support for much more than that. If SSH is an option for these devices, you may want to look at writing your own SSH ZenPack (http://community.zenoss.org/trac-zenpacks/wiki/SshZenpack) when 2.4 is released.
