I found an off-thread discussion in the thread on 'How big is your zenoss install' regarding this same topic. It is easy to find. It has some interesting insights into how to do this. Using this information I ended up getting a few zencommand processes running in parallel on the same box but I think it involves making two of each process, not just zencommand. All my second collector would do was the zencommand tasks and everything else on the devices allocated to the second collector stopped. I ended up putting it back to defaults as I was too lazy to do the rest of the processes, and what I wanted it to do was use a second CPU which it didn't. I have a eight core Xeon E5420 machine and all I can get it to do is use one and continually max it out. Frustrating
