What frustrates me is people quoting that they have quad or eight core machines. Zenoss doesn't use them! I have an IBM x3650 8-core Xeon 2.5Ghz E5420, fibre connected to the SAN, and 18Gb RAM. I can allocate as many CPU's as I like (VMware) and it only uses one of them. I have about 24k OID requests per cycle, disk writes peaking to anything up to 25MBps but currently sitting at 36Kbps, and my CPU is averaging 71.52% with the current (as I type this) sitting at 99.81% with 3 other available cores sitting at zero.
