At this point you're probably better off going with the LinuxMonitor  
ZenPack and the Community ZenPacks that supplement it.  They work much  
easier and don't require installation of anything on the remote machine.

and there are already distro-specific ZenPacks for SuSE and Gentoo  
with Ubuntu and Fedora about to be posted.  Plus there's an  
OpenSolaris one and documentation for adding additional ZenPacks for  
anything else that uses SSH (like BSDs or OSX).
