Hi, what distributions do want to monitor? Is it a redhat or debian derivative etc? If you have physical servers they can perhaps already have snmpd installed via some hardware vendors, like HP, Dell or IBM. If not you can install snmpd and set community name and such in /etc/snmpd.conf.
