To send/receive SNMP data, you must open port 161 on your firewall. Regarding ping, there is a thread here with a bit of information, but not a solution: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?t=8600&highlight=ping
Basically, the ICMP ping packet generated by an OS ping or a Zenoss ping command contains a different load than the packet generated by the zenping daemon. I've not verified this myself, but you can try using a sniffer to see if that is the case. If it is, then you have to figure a way to configure your router to allow the zenping version of ping through the firewall. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=38478#38478 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
