Reservations in private sector not easy, says Sharad Pawar
Says the decision may not stand legal scrutiny

Providing job reservations in the private sector will not be easy, Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has said.
This statement is very significant because Pawar is the chairman of the ministerial group examining various aspects of this demand.
This view is based on the opinions given by attorney general and other legal experts, Pawar told reporters on Sunday in Nagpur.
Legal opinion is that a decision to provide job reservations in the private sector will not stand legal
scrutiny. Even making changes in the Constitution would be difficult since the apex court has clarified that the basic structure of the Constitution cannot be changed, Pawar said.
Other members of the ministerial group are Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran and Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Meira Kumar.
