VISHAKAPTNAM: The Backward Classes’ Ikya Sangarshana Samiti would protest against the government’s decision to cancel reservations for the BC employees whose annual salary exceeds Rs 4 lakh and demanded the cancellation of GO 23.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Samiti State president VGR Naragoni said that a mahasabha of the Samiti would be conducted on Feb 20 at Guntur in this direction.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president K Kesava Rao, TDP Parliamentary member K Yerran Naidu and BJP State general secretary K Lakshman and 5,000 representatives of BCs would attend the mahasabha.
During the event, issues like reservations for BC women in political parties, immediate release of scholarships, giving tickets to about 150 candidates to contest at various assembly constituencies and enhancing reservations for BCs would be discussed.
