Parties to meet today on ABCD Hyderabad, May 20: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy has convened an all-party meeting on the classification of Scheduled Castes into A,B,C and D groups on Monday. The meeting will be held at Secretariat at 11.15 am mainly to discuss the situation arising out of the indefinite fast launched by Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti founder Manda Krishna Madiga. Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday, the Chief Minister said the government would take the opinion of all the political parties to find an amicable solution. He reiterated that the government was keen on implementing the classification from the ensuing academic year itself. Dr Reddy said there was delay in the commissions appointed by the Centre taking up their job and to avoid the same Prime Minister Manmohan Singh discussed the problem in the Cabinet and appointed Justice Usha Mehra commission afresh. Referring to the violent acts of burning of buses and government offices by MRPS activists, the Chief Minister appealed to them not to indulge in such acts as they cause losses to the State and people.
