Friends,
Our free coaching initiative is going on wonderfully well. Around 10 (may be
more by now) students have already started their coaching and we have 60-70
applications pending waiting for the necessary documentation.

Thanks to Ms Vinaya Khobragade, an ex-IIM and currently a bank vice-president
in New York, for doing wonderful job as a coordinator. The credit to the
success of this project goes to her in entirety.

  Now, I have a thought.

I have been approached by several students and activists to help students to
get coaching for BTech, BE, MBBS etc entrance exams. In Andhra, it is called
EMCET. It is expensive and a very lucrative business.

I am also thinking of English preparatory course for our students. Recently I
interviewed a few students for our free coaching project. They are all have
good credentials academically. But I realized that English is a big stumbling
block for them. I encouraged them to talk in English however they can in our
conversation. But after a sentence they were slipping back to their mother
tongue while expressing their thoughts. I sympathize them as I came from
similar or worse background.

So, I am thinking of writing to such institutes. I can write to them
explaining our success story with IIM free coaching initiative. Who knows, some
institutes may come forward to help students sponsored by us. We have a track
record of successfully implementation of scholarships project for 4 years and
gained some credibility.

My request to you is to send me a list of such institutes you know in India
with complete postal address, telephone number, and contact person. I will
communicate with them asking for partnership in helping the children who need
most help academically.

I am counting on you to help us.

  With regards
