UP govt gives nod to all-woman police station for Ghaziabad Pragya Kaushika Posted: Oct 12, 2008 at 0003 hrs IST Ghaziabad, October 11 The UP Government has sanctioned the first all-woman police station for Ghaziabad. Gautam Budh Nagar already has one. The Ghaziabad police had sent a proposal for such a police station a few months back. The UP government approved the proposal last week. The all-woman police station is being seen as a welcome change in the district police. "We welcome the police station in the district as there are several complex issues that the police have to deal with while handling complaints related to women or made by them. Most of the times, women constables who are not sufficient in number had to stay night long with women criminals," said a senior police official.
