Mayawati dares MNS activists Subhash Mishra Lucknow, October 21, 2008 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Tuesday dared the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists to desist from attacking north Indians in Mumbai or be prepared to face similar consequences. Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Mayawati appealed the north Indians to maintain their calm. But in her typical style, she issued a veiled threat to the MNS supporters for their unabated onslaught on the north Indians. "They (MNS activists) should think what will happen to them outside if others start reacting in their same language" retorted the BSP supreme, but not without forgetting to tell the people to remain clam. Mayawati criticised Congress-led UPA government at Centre and the Vilasrao Deshmukh government in Maharashtra for dealing with a soft hand against MNS chief Raj Thakrey. She also demanded a ban on MNS from the election commission.
