I'm Lillian D'Costa. At 28, I've spent eight years with an
activist organization in Goa. Although writing poetry has
been my first love, its something that got pushed to the
recesses of my mind as I worked and worked until it wore
my soul thin.
I'm presently on a break, supposedly working from home
and spending loads of time reading and writing. My heart
naturally goes out to the lame ducks in this world and I
hope to give voice to a populace that is too mired trying
to survive in an unjust world, one of the reasons why I
read a lot, hang out with them and spend time discussing
issues that easily get me labeled as a 'spoilt sport'.
I have done no formal studies in literature or poetry and
my writings are basically a source of release for my
emotions, my poems surface in a very unplanned way.
The language used is nearly always simple and it usually
relies on the reader to extract a complex understanding
of the issues touched upon.
I know nothing about structure and style and would be
really glad if all the senior and professional folks on this
list can comment on the stuff i hope to post, so I can
improve on it.
