dear writers, lyricists, wordmakers, wordbenders, wordbreakers, wordlovers, poetic ones,
hello from one whos been lurking on the fringes of the list... while i believe in and like living life on the fringe, i hope not to remain on the fringes of this list for too long :-)
a hectic travel schedule has precluded interaction on this list, and unfortunately ill miss the next offline meet as im not going to be in Delhi... though i hope to meet some of you soon, as i enjoyed the last (first) meet that we had...
no bio here, but will try and cater to the need for introduction... am here because i believe life is a poem whose rhythm is metered by drumbeats of the heart... dont want to restrict myself with names because there are too many, and too many anonymous and unknown and unheard poets, but i love hafiz, philip larkin, borges, lao tsu, appollinaire, neruda, cummings, paul claudel... and yes i write occasionally too.
i work with a small human rights organisation, specially on advocating for the human right to adequate housing and land.

TRIPLE TIME
This empty street, this sky to blandness scoured,
This air, a little indistinct with autumn
Like a reflection, constitute the present --
A time traditionally soured,
A time unrecommended by event.
But equally they make up something else:
This is the furthest future childhood saw
Between long houses, under travelling skies,
Heard in contending bells --
An air lambent with adult enterprise,
And on another day will be the past,
A valley cropped by fat neglected chances
That we insensately forbore to fleece.
On this we blame our last
Threadbare perspectives, seasonal decrease.
