Need *Sr. Linux System Administrator - Trading Systems* Professional Day Length: 8.0 Contract Duration: 3-6 months Environment: Business Casual Sponsorship Available: No Location: Austin, Texas Minimum Requirements: - The successful candidate will have earned a BS or MS in engineering, or computer science or equivalent work experience. Specific experience requirements include: Five-plus years of System Administration and/or Information Technology. - Essential technical skills include mastery of many of the following: § Multi-platform system administration (Linux, Windows) § Must be a Linux guru and will be counted on to be the groups' subject matter expert for Linux issues. § Will be responsible for providing ongoing software installs, upgrades and maintenance. § Will also assist in the development for various Linux applications in a large multi-server environment. Ideal candidate will be productive with most of the scripting tools and languages and will help build many customized cron jobs and security based applications § MUST be comfortable at the kernel level. § Perform on-site and remote technical support. § 5+ years systems management § Aptitude for technical troubleshooting and proven ability to support mission critical applications § Detail-oriented and ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment § Excellent verbal and written communication skills - The following skills are a plus: § Big plus would be hosting and high availability environments § Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC's, servers, network equipment, and software applications. § Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.
